This has definitely been a theme in my life lately and I am coming to realize just how healing it is so slow down to speed up. Why slowing down is important.
I feel like in todays society we are taught to alwayssss be going and doing and achieving and grinding and hustling, only to burn ourselves out in the process mentally, physically and emotionally and left with all sorts of feelings of inadequacies and burnout!! In fact, Inc. magazine recently did an article on 4 Reasons Why Slowing Down will make you more successful.
Its been relatively hard for me especially since COVID and wanting to change gears with my new business ideas trying to figure out everything to have, be and do for a new level of success. We are taught you just keep pushing and forcing and doing and something will come together BUT as I am sitting here composing this post I have to share that I had an epiphany this morning that THE MORE I ALLOW MYSELF TO SLOW DOWN, the better I have been feeling in body, mind and spirit. There really is something to say about just slowing down to rest, relax and rejuvenate yourself. It doesn't mean by taking a day or two or three to yourself to just play, have fun, read and nurture yourself that your life is going to fall apart and you won't achieve all the things you set your heart on achieving.
Your goals won't die and not come to fruition. Instead, by taking the time to slow down and be present anddd relax- things actually can come together more perfect then you could ever even imagine.
It starts by TRUSTING and having FAITH in yourself and the Universe that things are always going to work out for you and as I am learning each day If you make it your goal to keep your mindset right and if you take care of yourself, slow down and give yourself the time and space to be present enjoying life in a relaxed manner is by golly when things begin to change. Even athletes slow down. Check out this article on the 5 Health Benefits of Slowing Down.
It is with all of the hustle and pushing and keeping yourself in a constant state of stress that what we want has trouble coming to us because we cut off the flow of allowing by always doing. I am learning that this equation is so much more simpler and enjoyable and BEING (not DOING so much) moment to moment with a relaxed energy field brings in so much more.
I wholeheartedly invite you to really start taking some time to slow down so you can really rest, relax and rejuvenate and then watch just how much things in your life speed back up. It's a give and take with energy and you might like letting go a bit more, I know I have. =)
